Handmade Pompoms |

When I go on tour, I always knit simple pattern scarves. I cannot knit another pattern, because I'm too lazy to calculate the loops. Knitting calms me, especially before the concert. I like the thick soft coat. And belchers were knitted for a couple of days. One day, my friend saw my creations and advised to decorate their by fashionable pompoms. I liked this idea and I set to work. 1. You need rings to make a pompom. Different companies offer ready-made rings for pompons. But you can make rings for pompoms themselves. Cut 2 identical rings of thick cardboard or thin plastic. Consider the size of the rings and the size of the pompoms, which will get through them. For example, the ring has diameter of 10 cm, the inner hole is 2 cm, and your pompom will be an 8 cm. 2. Attach rings to each other and begin winding their by wool. The winding should be neat and compact; this is the most important rule of the entire process. 3. Do this for as long as do not fill all the gaps. You can do one more row (your pompom will be fluffy) 4. Cut the strings on a circle and a tie well with a simple thread. 5. Then the circles should be removed, and the pompom should be disorder. Cut jagged edges of threads to get the correctly form "ball". Pompom is ready! Now you just need to repeat this procedure as many times as you need for pompom scarf. These tassels are sewed very easy. Take a needle with strong wool thread, and pompoms is sewn one by one on the short side of the scarf. So, your pompom scarves are ready! Pompoms are a very popular and fashionable decorative element, not only for clothes but also accessories. Now designers are using pompoms to decorating hats, outerwear, footwear, handbags, gloves, scarves and many other items. It is interesting that pompom was very popular much earlier. It was a very popular element of military uniforms. For example, the French sailors used the pompoms on their hats not for decoration. Previously, the ships had cramped spaces with low ceilings, and pompom protected the head from being hit by a sailor on the tabs. Now ship rooms are more spacious, but the tradition of using red pompoms on the white hats of French sailors is survived until now. |
